At Modern Essentials, we stand behind the quality of our product and
we want to make sure you are completely satisfied with anything you
buy from us. Try it out for 15 days. If, for any reason, you are not
pleased with your purchase simply follow the instructions below.
Returns/
Exchanges/Cancellations
If returning merchandise,
please call 800.959.2810 for shipping instructions and a return
authorization number. Merchandise returned without a return
authorization number will be refused. Keep in mind, shipping fees are
non-refundable, and returns on shipped orders will incur return
shipping costs. Items that receive free or discounted shipping will be
charged the appropriate delivery fee. Returned merchandise must be in
original resalable condition and in original packaging. In the event
merchandise is not returned in resalable condition or without the
original packaging, Modern Essentials reserves the right to offer
store credit or refuse returned merchandise.
If you wish
to cancel/refuse/return an order for small accessories (e.g., bedding,
lamps, rugs) that ship via FedEx or UPS, and that has already shipped,
the order will be handled as a return under our general return
policy. If you wish to cancel/refuse/return an order for bedroom
furniture, dining room furniture, living room furniture or
audio/visual furniture that has already shipped, you are welcome to do
so, however, you will be responsible for actual freight costs both
ways. You can return the item using the carrier of your choice.
Original freight is non-refundable. Custom and special orders are
subject to a 35% restocking fee if returned or the order is canceled
after three days. Special order products are marked accordingly and
you will be contacted via phone to confirm all special orders.

Delivery Acceptance Instructions
Most large
furniture items (i.e., dining room and bedroom furniture) are shipped
via our long-distance in-home delivery service. The delivery must be
signed for by the customer, or an individual at least eighteen years
old that the customer designates to have the authority to sign for the
delivery. Although you may waive the signature requirement by
contacting the delivery company, we strongly recommend that you not do
so,
as it waives their liability for any damage, and therefore,
subsequently forces us to do the same. Before signing for the
delivery, please inspect thoroughly for any damage, shortages, etc.
In the unlikely event that damage or a shortage has occurred in
transit, make a notation on the waybill, retain applicable packaging
materials, and notify us immediately at 800.959.2810. In the event
that damage is not noted on the waybill when signing for the delivery
or the applicable packaging materials are not retained, any claim for
damage must be filed by you directly with the delivery company.
